Bali, I miss you! As soon as the borders open in Australia, Indonesia will be one of the first countries I will return to. I missed that hospitality, beautiful landscapes and that delicious food. Hopefully we can visit Bali again soon, because just like the rest of the world, Indonesia is also anxiously waiting for tourists. Those who have never been to Bali before have plenty to discover, but regular Bali visitors can also visit many beautiful things. In this blog I share 5 fun activities to do in Bali. Are you traveling with us?

Cooking and eating with locals

Cooking is very important in Indonesia, Indonesians spend a lot of time in the kitchen. As a visitor it is of course fantastic to get acquainted with Indonesian cuisine. What spices do they use, and how do you prepare well-known dishes such as Nasi Goreng, Rendang and Gado-gado. Cooking and eating with locals is a fun experience that you will never forget. For example, do a cooking workshop in Ubud and learn everything about the Indonesian cuisine.

Visit sea salt makers

Did you know that in Bali they extract sea salt from the sea water in a traditional way? Mila and Ketut from Toko Travel took us to a place where they make sea salt in a traditional way.

A fun and educational tour where you can see up close how sea salt is extracted and where you get to know the locals who are involved in this. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a must do in Bali.

Sekumpul Waterfall hike

Those who want to enjoy the Balinese nature should not miss a visit to the Sekumpul Waterfall. This beautiful waterfall is located in a green oasis and the road to the waterfall is a paradise for nature lovers. Take a good look around you, because you pass many beautiful tropical trees and plants.

But you can also spot beautiful butterflies, spiders and other colorful insects. When you arrive at the Sekumpul Waterfall, you can take a refreshing walk under the waterfall and see the violence of the water up close.

Snorkeling at Tulamben Shipwreck

Those who like snorkeling should not miss Tulamben Shipwreck. This place is well known among snorkelers and I understand that. When you snorkel near the old ship you will be surprised by thousands of colored fish. The closer you get to the shipwreck, the more fish you can spot. I was so surprised by this place, I didn’t expect to spot so many fish in advance.

Visit Lempuyang Temple

Immerse yourself in the culture and visit Lempuyang Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Bali. The temple is a gem to visit and is a very photogenic place.

The road to it is already beautiful, and especially when a ceremony is taking place. Then you have a lot to admire as a tourist. It was a beautiful experience for me and something you must see when you are in Bali.
